mit.dk launches mitBasic

It is now possible for companies to send digital mail to customers and members without a CPR number. mit.dk has developed mitBasic so that citizens without NemID and MitID can receive digital mail from private companies.

With mitBasic, it will now be possible for companies to send digital mail to citizens under the age of 15 and foreign citizens in Denmark without using a CPR number.

Historically, it has only been possible to send digital mail to customers and members using CPR numbers and to citizens with a NemID or MitID. This means that young citizens under the age of 15 and foreign citizens in Denmark have not been able to receive digital mail, including employment contracts, payslips etc. This is now possible with mitBasic.

How mitBasic works

The citizen creates his or hers own mitBasic account at the request of the individual company. With mitBasic, the citizen's e-mail address is used as the unique ID. This means that companies can send important digital mail via the citizen's e-mail address.

It is the same integration that the company uses to send digital mail in mit.dk to all recipients, so it is easy and simple for companies to communicate with all their customers, members or employees through mit.dk either via CPR number or e-mail address.

In March, mit.dk was launched – Denmark's new app for digital mail from authorities and companies. In mit.dk, all Danish citizens receive all their digital mail from the public authorities, and they also receive digital mail from companies that have chosen to use mit.dk.
