The future is digital and that includes the majority of the contact between citizens, the public sector, companies and organizations. What started as electronic letters 20 years ago is much more today, and we need a secure and userfriendly infrastructure for all the communication we need to read and take action on to make every day life run smoothly. Therefore, in 2022 all Danish citizens got a new app for digital post sent from the public sector, private and companies and organizations.
The platform of mit.dk builds upon Next generation of Digital Post which was also introduced in 2022. Next generation of Digital Post is owned by the Danish state and is developed in collaboration between the Danish Agency of Digitalization and Netcompany. As a digital post solution, mit.dk came to life due to the legislation that requries the public sector to put solutions out to tender once in a while. This ensures a healthy market for secure digital post, which then results in better prices and services. With the arrival of the new digital post solution, communication, interaction and transactions have become simpler and more vibrant for all of us. Also, with the new public post solution and mit.dk, better service, intuitive user journeys and more value are introduced to end users, public and private actors.
Netcompany is the company behind mit.dk. Netcompany is a Danish IT company which was founded in 2000, and its head quarters are located in Copenhagen.
MitID must not be mistaken for mit.dk. The mit.dk team cannot assist with MitID issues. MitID is the key you use when logging into mit.dk. MitID is used for a wide range of Danish IT solutions and is also Denmark's international electronic ID.
